Matchday Mesmeriser

Entertaining VIP guests

I make no secret of my love for Chelsea FC, but don’t hold that against me. I have spent many years as the Matchday Magician at Stamford Bridge but take no credit for their success on the pitch.

So, how did I become the resident magician at Chelsea (excluding Eden Hazard)? My story starts with a chance meeting with the legendary Glenn Hoddle in a restaurant in London back in 1992. He enjoyed my magic so much that he suggested I make contact with Carol Phair (Commercial Manager, CFC at the time).

So, naturally I made the call and was delighted when Carol told me to come along on match days to see how the guests would react – 25 years later I am still invited along to entertain VIP clients in all areas of Stamford Bridge.

I’ve seen the club go through some really tough times both on and off the pitch, but also have been witness to some fantastic successful times during the Abramovich era and have had the opportunity to perform to thousands of corporate clients and VIP guests.

with Niall Horan

with Samuel L Jackson

I have made wonderful lifelong friends at the club and it has been a privilege to perform to some of the top names in sport and showbiz, including Tiger Woods, Samuel L Jackson, Mick Jagger, Sienna Miller and Niall Horan (excuse me while I pick up all the names I just dropped).

Thanks to all the great feedback from guests and clients, I have been invited to perform at many of the player’s private parties and have even been flown by private jet on more than one occasion to perform for VIP’s direct from Chelsea.

I now get calls on a Friday evening from many of my regular clients to find out more about my latest ‘Miracles on Match days” with the most requested trick being “what is the score going to be?”.

The success I’ve enjoyed at Chelsea just goes to show that well-performed, close-up magic can be great entertainment as part of all kinds of corporate environments. It’s perfect for breaking the ice and causing astonishment and will be remembered for a long time.
